Expect Change, Seize Opportunity

Planning for a New America

Date:

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

Time:

8:30am-10:00am

Location:

Capitol Peak, 38th Floor

Track(s):

Expect Change, Seize Opportunity

America in 2050 will be a radically different nation. Communities from the top of the Continental Divide to the reaches of coastal Maine are changing rapidly in their demographics and economies, in their policy problems and solutions, and in the ways they make decisions and engage citizens. You need to start changing with them.

This plenary session will explore our shifting communities from three different perspectives – changes in our populations, in our landscapes, and in our culture and interactions. Panelists will discuss the intersection between these trends and projections, as well as what they mean for communities across the country.

Bill Roper will moderate this plenary.
