Structured Public Involvement is a protocol that integrates technologies of representation, participation, and decision modeling into customized processes for public goods decision-making. Discuss the philosophical and practical issues associated with large group participation, drawing on the work of philosopher John Rawls, and work interactively with other participants to address various challenges of complexity and democracy. Discussion will include an in-depth exploration of Audience Response Systems, GIS and Visualization software, and Decision Support tools. (This workshop is included in registration.)
